What I love — The 3941 is a rather elusive reference, with total production often quoted at 35 examples I’ve actually found near 45 so far however just 9 examples with the 1st series dial, making this configuration one of the rarest of the 3940/41 produced (link to my research). The ‘41’ in the reference basically refers to the display case-back vs the closed case-back of the early 3940, both share the same movement with the movement numbers intertwined. The 3941 was made from 1986-1990 with 1st series dials being seen in 86 & 87.
The dial is the star of the show here with the contrasting sunken sub-dials and color changing dial. The dial shifts in color dependant on the viewing angle taking it from silver to cream to gold. The fonts displaying sharp serifs and the small ‘vintage esque’ logo at 12, a truly beautiful execution with classic Patek DNA. The case is in good condition and hallmarks visible. The watch is fitted to the original 18k yellow gold pin buckle and comes complete with boxset, pin pusher, paperwork and wallet.
This watch was originally sold at the home of the 3940/41, Beyer in Zurich, noted on the paperwork.
What you should know — The watch has received a polish in the past, the hallmarks can be seen but show wear. There are hairlines on the case/buckle but no major marks to report.
There is a light mark on the dial, visible only from certain angles, just above the centre - please see photos as it was hard to capture but I wanted to note.
