Circa 1991 Audemars Piguet Perpetual Calendar 25657
As a huge fan of the APQP it’s a real pleasure to offer this high complication for sale and interestingly the first 25657 in yellow gold on the site. 25657BA (yellow gold) was produced in 1309 examples.
The case is thick and in overall wonderful condition. Hallmarks/engravings deep and clear, only minor wear to report from general use over the years (hairlines etc).
The recessed ‘English’ dial is in great condition. Dial perfect to the eye and one the wrist, minor wear on the dial under a loupe only, in a couple areas around the edge. The way the light flicks over the recessed subdials is amazing to see with dial itself possessing a light shimmer in direct sun. Blued hands are a delightful touch and add a pop of color, matching the moonphase wonderfully! Serifs in the subdial fonts is always nice to see, Neo-vintage aesthetics at its finest.
Watch is accompanied by the original AP buckle and 2019 AP Service papers where it’s noted the watch received a complete maintenance service. This is a fantastic opportunity to get into a watch steeped in historical importance for less than an entry level steel sports watch. I know which one I’m picking!
