Circa 1970 Piaget 14101 Beta 21 Onyx
A rare model and steeped in history with the Beta21 being instrumental bringing a number of the top brands together as they battled the onslaught of quartz movements. The result.. a truly iconic movement that enjoyed great success with an audible *hum* to boot.
Looking at the watch condition the solid white gold case shows light wear with minor hairlines throughout. The case back appears to have seen a light polish in its time however the hallmarks and engravings are deep. The case back screws show some wear but who’s looking at them with everything else to enjoy?!
The deep black onyx dial is in great condition, no chips or cracks just a light drag mark on the dial, near impossible to capture but can be seen in certain angles.
The hands are fantastic with a visible jewel in the centre and the watch is fitted to a sting ray strap from Handdn ft. the original white gold pin buckle.
The watch runs well and is ready to be enjoyed for years to come. A rare beast indeed and one we don’t part with lightly.
