1998 Vacheron Constantin Overseas 42042 Complete Set
Stunning white guilloche dial 37mm Overseas from Vacheron Constantin offered complete with all the original boxes and paperwork.
The case of the watch is in overall good condition, under a loupe it appears to show signs of a previous polish in particular on the front of the lugs at 6 o’clock. There are light marks consistent with general use across the case but the edges remain in sharp condition.
The bracelet was brushed by Vacheron Constantin to remove small hairlines, now looking good as new. The stretch is light however as commonly seen with 1st Gen Overseas bracelets it does not hold the watch head when placed clasp down (bracelet collapses - see photo). The clasp just retains the click on the double deployment with the slider lock in perfect working conditions keeping the watch securely on the wrist.
Finally the guilloche dial, the standout feature of the set, glimmering checkerboard pattern in certain lights vs vertical matte stripes pattern in others. There are very minute marks on the dial when viewed under a loupe (see photos - tiny black dots) however not visible to the naked eye - overall great condition. The hands are Luminova in-line with its production date.
The set includes inner/outer boxes, grate, COSC certificate and more. A truly wonderful set of what’s becoming an increasingly popular reference.
