Reserved - 2003 Vacheron Constantin Perpetual Calendar Skeleton 43032 Platinum with Extract
A firm favorite of mine and one I always cherish time with when in stock, the outrageously beautiful Vacheron Constantin ref. 43032 skeleton perpetual calendar in platinum. Interestingly this is one of the latest ones I’ve ever seen/held dating 2003, likely one of the last few produced of the circa 150 total.
The case is in great shape, hallmarks and engravings are deep and lugs thick. There is some light wear from use but nothing major to report. The case has seen a light polish at some point in its lifetime. The way the bright platinum compliments the inner workings of the movement and the white sub dials is just perfect.
The dial is pristine, no cracks or marks, I love the legibility but also the aesthetic of the white sub dials as if almost floating on top of the movement. The 4 year calendar at 12 is a highlight as well as the 4th corrector pusher (for the month) on the case, not present on the APQP comparative.
Turning the watch over you’ll find the fully hand engraved masterpiece, caliber 1120, ultra-thin and mind boggling to the eye! The base caliber is the JLC 920, also seen in other legendary models such as the original Patek Nautilus and AP Royal Oak.
The watch is accompanied with its original white gold deployant buckle, correct for this period. Also included is the extract from the archives confirming all the numbers and date of production. Finally the box set is included.
Overall a killer watch, rarely seen in the wild and packing a serious punch of rarity and history.
