Extremely rare and one I’ve been hunting for a long time, ref. 1186 ‘Rattrapante’ ft. sunburst blue dial in a yellow gold case. Released in the 90’s it has been spotted in ‘Watches’ Magazine listed at the time for 37k USD, however very rarely seen in the wild since (first time I’ve come across one).

The case/lugs/bezel are in great condition, only light marks to report and patina developing. The hallmarks and engravings on the case back are deep and crisp. Overall likely had a very light polish at some point in its lifetime, although a long time ago and done very well.

The dial is the highlight here, dark in the shade, vibrant and somewhat multicoloured in the direct sun. The way the light hits is dazzling at times! Overall the dial is in good condition, there is some minor wear mainly in the form of a light indent above the ‘10’ in th 3 o’clock sub-dial. Hard to capture but you can just see it in one of the close ups. In all honesty it didn’t stop me buying it considering rarity, age and beauty.

The watch is accompanied with its yellow gold Blancpain buckle, fitted to A Collected Man strap.

A rare beast with a fantastic complication, these pieces are still extremely affordable when compared to modern offerings of similar level.
