Interestingly the first AP Star Wheel WBLDN has had the privilege of listing, the wandering hours display and intricate ‘arabesque’ engraved dial has captivated collectors over the last few years and we couldn't be happier to be sharing this one with you. Produced for roughly 5 years from the early 90’s the Star Wheel had a short production with the engraved dial variant being our favourite.
The case is in superb condition, thick lugs, deep hallmarks/engravings and patina starting to develop. There are some marks to the side of the case, to be expected from use however it retains its original finish and one of the better examples we’ve seen. We chose not to polish the case.
The dial is a head turner, an intriguing display and for sure a great talking point down the pub! The open case-back proudly displaying the calibre 2124, based on the Jaeger LeCoultre calibre 889. The ébauche was very popular and can be found in a number of our favorite Neo-vintage pieces.
The strap is from our friends at ‘A Collected Man’ and fitted to the original AP yellow gold pin buckle. Overall a wonderful example of one of the 90’s most intriguing designs.
