1974 Rolex King Midas Cellini 3580
A king of any collection, we’re proud to offer this incredibly well preserved Rolex King Midas Cellini ref. 3580 for sale. This model has a remarkable history and aptly named after the mythological Greek King Midas, for everything he touched turned to gold.
King Midas Cellini was the successor of the limited run ref. 9630. While no longer a limited series it had a short production run and was actually made in less numbers making it even more hard to come by. The ref. 3580 can be found from production number 800 onwards and it was thought 500 total were produced. Check out our Reference Talk article on the King Midas for a thorough deep-dive.
This example comes in truly wonderful condition, the bracelet shows no stretch and the double deployant clasp works perfectly. The case and bracelet are sharp with only slight hairlines to report. The watch engravings and hallmarks are crisp throughout (see photos) with ‘King Midas’ proudly displayed on the case side. The dial and hands are also in fantastic condition, overall a truly gorgeous piece.
